Designing a Home Office That Inspires Creativity & Productivity

Working from home is not an easy task, especially if you don’t have the proper space to do it! It can be frustrating to figure out a set up that works for you and helps you to get in work mode. Following these tips, create yourself a space that inspires productivity & creativity!

 

1. Make it Comfortable, Yet Practical

  • Though the designs on Pinterest may be aesthetic, make sure it is a place that is practical and comfortable. If you’ll be spending a lot of time here you want to have comfortable seating and an organized space.

  • Make it practical by giving yourself the appropriate amount of space to work on the tasks you need to do.

  • Find a comfortable chair, you’ll be spending a lot of time in it!

2.  Add Lighting

  • If possible, choose a space with natural light.

  • Add lighting to be in concentrated places that will help you focus in on your work.

  •   Create balance with lighting to avoid eye strain.

3.  Balance Work Space and Storage

  • Have a good method of storage and filing. If you’re working from home you will want to be able to separate out your personal work from your job. Get a filing cabinet or storage bins to keep your desk neat and tidy!

  • Make sure you have a clear work space! Give yourself the ability to spread out your work and have the room to put out everything you need to.

4.  Decorate!

  • Make your work space enjoyable, especially if you plan on spending a good amount of time there. Add some pictures of loved ones or travel, let your space represent who you are!

5. Add Greenery

  • While we’re on the topic of decorating. spice up your office with greenery. It gives you the ability to bring the outside inside.

  • Plants are shown to bring people happiness and boost mood/productivity. Go green and get those creative juices flowing!

6.  Switch Things up Occasionally

  • Keep things fresh! If you’re bored, move things around, face a new wall or window. Give yourself new views and new things to look at and inspire your thoughts.
